History is an outline of events that occurred previously as well as their relevance in today’s way of living. Studying history helps us to understand where we are, our present stand, or what the future may look like. History reveals the formation of great features that exist and their importance. It helps us to know how political influence came about and how legends lived in the past, fighting for freedom. Through history, we can predict some occurrences that are likely to be repeated in the future then learn how to prevent destructive events from happening. These events can vary from natural causes to preventable causes.
The existence of human beings and how they evolved is a broad area where many studies have been carried out. Human beings lived in forests where they ate fruits and roots as food. The early man walked on four and appeared like a chimpanzee. Over a million years ago, the early man started evolving and the tail started disappearing. The two back legs were used for standing while the front ones were used to hold things. Initially, the early man was hairy, after starting to evolve, much hair disappeared from the body. The teeth were large, strong, and curved to tear meat or hold other things.
The early man evolved fully to become upright with a fully developed brain. Civilization came in as a result of the large capacity brain which helped in coming up with ideas to change the world. A matchbox was invented for lighting fire, houses were invented for living, vehicles were invented for transportation. The railway line was built to transfer goods to diverse places for the construction of facilities. Military weapons were made to help the army in fighting battles and for protection. Electricity generation became a big achievement because it helped in facilitating the making of modern equipment that made it easy to navigate from place to place. Movement by ship was a way in which goods moved through different continents, though it was slow.
Invention of the railway was a big development made in that through railway transportation, raw materials could reach industries for processing. The industries led to the growth of towns because people started moving to areas where resources were readily available. Great towns made equipment that led to easy accessibility by other towns. Construction of roads made movement easy to obtain raw materials for use in industries. It also led to an improvement in trading activities from rural to urban areas. Movement by airplanes is a development that made it easy to move to all continents with ease and in a quick way.
Telephone invention was also a major contribution to society. People who are in different towns could easily communicate, making the world turn into a small town. Major developments occurred that are well-written down in the form of history to easily refer to in the future. Through this history, we learn of how development came about and how development influences the growth of the world. History helps to explain important development factors that happened long ago.
